Folic acid is used to treat or prevent anaemia . Anemia caused due to deficiency of folic acid, anaemia in pregnancy, anaemia due to damaged red blood cells, anaemia in kidney dialysis patients

Drug-Drug Interaction: Folic acid may have interaction with anticonvulsants: phenobarbital, primidone, phenytoin,,antibiotics: trimethoprim,,anti-inflammatory drugs: sulfasalazine,,anticancer drug: fluorouracil.
Drug-Food Interaction: Consult you doctor Inform ,if you are taking any zinc supplements or medicines containing zinc.
Drug-Disease Interaction: If you have if you have cancer then avoid intaking of folic acid ,If you have anaemia due to lack of vitamin B12, tumour or if you are receiving a stent in the heart or undergoing haemodialysis due to kidney failure, inform your doctor before taking folic acid.
contraindications
If you miss a dose of this medicine, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular dosing schedule. Do not double doses.

Consult your doctor if you are pregnant or planning for baby and if you have a breast feeding baby , but should be taken only after consulting a doctor.
