How Gm Sr 2 works

Gm Sr 2 work together to help control blood sugar in people with type 2 diabetes. One component in the combination medicine i.e Metformin reduces the amount of sugar produced by the liver and helps the body’s muscles use insulin more effectively. While the other component in the combination, glimepiride, stimulates the pancreas to release more insulin, allowing sugar to move from the blood into the cells. Together, they help lower and maintain healthy blood sugar levels.

Gm Sr 2 Summary

Gm Sr 2 is a combination anti‑diabetic medicine (metformin, a biguanide, and glimepiride, a sulfonylurea) used to manage type 2 diabetes when diet and exercise alone are insufficient. It works as a two‑way helper: metformin lowers sugar made by the liver and improves insulin use, while glimepiride stimulates the pancreas to release more insulin. Common side effects include stomach upset, nausea, diarrhea, dizziness, headache, and low blood sugar if meals are missed. It should be taken with food to reduce stomach irritation and hypoglycemia risk, while alcohol should be avoided due to the chance of lactic acidosis.
