Hydronol 25 Tablet is an oral medicine belonging to the category of diuretics and is used for the management of high blood pressure and to control swellings related to it.
Hydronol 25 Tablet works by reducing the accumulation of salt in the kidneys and helps the body get rid of excess salt and water through urine, like opening a drain to release pressure. When less fluid remains in the blood vessels, the heart does not have to pump as hard, and swelling decreases. This makes it useful for controlling high blood pressure and fluid buildup.
📌 Pregnancy
The safety of Hydronol 25 Tablet in pregnancy is not established, and it can cause jaundice, low platelet counts, and diarrhea in patients. Inform your doctor if you are pregnant or planning to conceive.
📌 Breastfeeding
Hydronol 25 Tablet is not usually recommended during breastfeeding because there is no reliable information on whether it passes into breast milk or how it might affect a nursing infant.
📌 Kidney and Liver Problems
Hydronol 25 Tablet should be used cautiously in kidney disease, as weak kidneys may not clear it well, causing dehydration and electrolyte problems. In liver disease, it can upset fluid balance and, in severe cases, trigger hepatic coma. Overall, it is avoided in severe kidney or liver problems but may be used with close monitoring in milder cases.
Avoid consuming alcohol and smoking simultaneously, as it may affect the drug’s action and show an effect on the brain, leading to severe drowsiness, sedation, and coma in severe cases.
Avoid taking Hydronol 25 Tablet with the following medicines, as it may increase or decrease the desired effect, or in worse cases, it could be fatal:

It is not recommended to take more than 200 to 400 mg of Hydronol 25 Tablet per day, as it may cause severe overdosing effects like extreme drowsiness, confusion, unconsciousness, sweating, double vision, low blood pressure, and slurred speech. Immediately seek medical attention and meet the doctor if necessary.
Hydronol 25 Tablet is a thiazide‑like diuretic (“water pill”) prescribed mainly for high blood pressure and swelling, sometimes off‑label for kidney stones or resistant hypertension; it works by restricting the accumulation of salt in the kidneys, so more salt and water are flushed out, lowering pressure and fluid. Alcohol, NSAIDs, and lithium can interfere with its action, while low‑salt diets or potassium supplements may be advised.
