Rabeprazole 40 mg + Itopride 150 mg is an oral medicine belonging to the category of histamine inhibitors and is used to treat the following conditions:
Rabeprazole works by blocking the acid pumps in the stomach so less acid is made, while Itopride helps the stomach muscles push food down faster. Together they reduce burning, indigestion, and nausea by lowering acid and improving movement. This makes food digest more smoothly and prevents acid from flowing back into the food pipe.
Rabeprazole + Itopride is usually safe in pregnancy for acidity and acid reflux, but it should always be taken under medical supervision, at the lowest dose needed.
Rabeprazole + Itopride is considered safe to use while breastfeeding. Only tiny amounts pass into breast milk, which is much less than the dose given, sometimes directly given to newborns for stomach acid problems, so it is not expected to harm the baby.
Rabeprazole + Itopride should be used with caution in people who have liver problems, because liver disease can affect how the body processes the medication. In some cases, it can cause a change in liver functioning, so don’t use this, as it can put your liver to work and further damage it.
Avoid smoking and consuming alcohol, as they can either increase or decrease the drug’s action and sometimes can cause irritation and reduce the action of medicine.
Avoid taking rabeprazole + Itopride with the following medicines, as it may increase or decrease the desired effect, or in worse cases, it could be fatal:
Rabeprazole- (RS)-2-([4-(3-Methoxypropoxy)-3-methylpyridin-2-yl]methyl sulfinyl)-1H-benzo[d]imidazole

Itopride- N-[[4-(2-dimethylaminoethoxy) phenyl]methyl]-3,4-dimethoxybenzamide

Take rabeprazole + Itopride exactly as your doctor recommends. The dose may change based on your condition and how well you respond. Do not take more than prescribed without consulting your doctor
If you forget to take your medicine, take the medication as soon as you remember. If it’s nearly time for your next dose, skip the missed one and continue with your regular schedule. Always consult the doctor before making any changes to your dosage.
It is not recommended to take more than 300 mg of rabeprazole + Itopride per day, as it may cause severe overdosing effects like diarrhea, nausea, dizziness, kidney and liver damage, heart problems, and allergies. If you face any of the severe effects, visit the doctor.
Rabeprazole 40 mg + Itopride 150 mg is a stomach medicine used to treat acid reflux, ulcers, indigestion, and nausea. Rabeprazole is a proton pump inhibitor that blocks acid production, while Itopride is a prokinetic that helps food move faster through the stomach. Common side effects include headache, diarrhea, dizziness, abdominal pain, and gas. Alcohol, caffeine, and fatty meals can worsen symptoms. People with heart rhythm problems, liver disease, or intestinal bleeding, or women who are pregnant or breastfeeding should inform the doctor about their condition. Taking more than 80 mg of this medicine in a day can cause overdose effects like severe dizziness, irregular heartbeat, muscle spasms, confusion, and fainting.
Rabeprazole + Itopride is a medicine used to help people with ulcers, acidity, and heartburn in the stomach along with nauseous sensations in the stomach and to improve digestion.
Some people may feel mild side effects like headaches, nausea, or changes in bowel movements like constipation or diarrhea while using rabeprazole + itopride.
It is not recommended to take more than 200 mg of rabeprazole per day, as it may cause severe overdosing effects like diarrhea, nausea, dizziness, kidney and liver damage, heart problems, and allergies. If you face any of the severe effects, see the doctor.
Rabeprazole + Itopride works by irreversibly inhibiting the H⁺/K⁺ ATPase enzyme (proton pump) in the stomach’s parietal cells, thereby blocking the final step of gastric acid secretion, and Itopride improves digestion and stomach comfort.
