Levocetirizine 5 mg + Montelukast 10 mg is an anti-allergic medicine belonging to the category of antihistamines and leukotriene antagonists and is used to treat the following allergic reactions:
Levocetirizine works by blocking histamine, the chemical that causes sneezing, itching, and runny nose in allergies. Montelukast stops another chemical called leukotriene, which causes swelling and tightening of airways. Together, they reduce allergy symptoms and make breathing easier in a simple, complementary way.
Individuals with a known hypersensitivity or allergy to levocetirizine and Montelukast, or any ingredients in the formulation should avoid the drug because it may trigger severe allergic reactions.
Levocetirizine + Montelukast crosses the placenta and can cause fetal abnormalities if taken during pregnancy, so if you are pregnant or planning to conceive, inform your doctor about it.
This Medicine is removed through the kidneys, and weak kidneys can’t clear it properly, which can lead to side effects. Get a recommendation from a doctor before using it.
Avoid taking Levocetirizine 5 mg + Montelukast 10 mg with the following medicines, as it may increase or decrease the desired effect, or in worse cases, it could be fatal:
Avoid consuming caffeinated foods, as they can cause side effects like allergies and skin rashes. Alcohol and smoking can increase the medicine side effects occurring and worsen the patient’s conditions.
Levocetirizine- 2-[2-[4-[(R)-(4-chlorophenyl)-phenylmethyl]piperazin-1-yl]ethoxy]acetic acid

Montelukast- 2-[1-[[(1R)-1-[3-[(E)-2-(7-chloroquinolin-2-yl)ethenyl]phenyl]-3-[2-(2-hydroxypropan-2-yl)phenyl]propyl]sulfanylmethyl]cyclopropyl]acetic acid

Take Levocetirizine + Montelukast exactly as your doctor recommends. The dose may change based on your condition and how well you respond. Do not take more than prescribed without consulting your doctor.
If you forget to take your medicine, take the medication as soon as you remember. If it’s nearly time for your next dose, skip the missed one and continue with your regular schedule. Always consult the doctor before making any changes to your dosage.
It is not recommended to take more than 30 mg a day, as it can cause lower heart rate, slow breathing, and can even cause life-threatening complications. If someone you know is taking this medicine and exhibits any of these symptoms, seek medical attention immediately.
