Sulfasalazine 50 mg is works by suppressing the overactivity of the immune system in autoimmune diseases and blocks the chemical messengers that cause inflammation.

Inflammatory conditions of the joints,,rheumatoid arthritis,,psoriatic arthritis,,ankylosing spondylitis,, skin (psoriasis),,ulcerative colitis.

Sulfasalazine is a medicine used to treat various inflammatory conditions of the joints rheumatoid arthritis, psoriasis, and ulcerative colitis.

Nausea,,headache,,loss of appetite,,vomiting,,diarrhea,,weight loss,,gastrointestinal discomfort.

Warning : To make sure sulfasalazine is safe for you ,Before intake sulfasalazine consult your doctor know if you have any kind of heart, kidneys, or liver disease. Your doctor may recommend regular blood tests to check your kidney and liver functions and CBC.

Drug drug interaction : Sulfasalazine 500 mg may interact with blood thinner: warfarin, heart disease medicine: digoxin,, iron supplements,,anti-diabetic: glimepiride,glipizide,,antibiotics,,immune system affecting drug : azathioprine, mercaptopurine,,anti-arthritis or anti-cancer drug: methotrexate,,anti TB drug isoniazid.

Drug food interaction : During intake of sulfasalazine 500 mg avoid foods that can increase or worsen ulcerative colitis such as milk, milk products, raw fruits and vegetables, beans, spicy foods, popcorn, artificial sweeteners, nuts, seeds, and fatty foods.

Drug disease interaction: Before start sulfasalazine 500 mg Consult your doctor if you have asthma, wheezing, fever, breathing difficulties, sudden severe skin rash, unusual bleeding, sore throat, fever, unexplained bruising, or any other symptoms of infection.

if you miss a dose,take it as soon as you remember.if it is near the time of the next dose,skip the missed dose and resume your usual dosing schedule . Do not double the dose to catch up.

Talk to your doctor if you are pregnant or planning to become pregnant or if you are a breastfeed mother.

Store this medicine at room temperature, away from sunlight and moisture.

Swallow the tablets /capsule whole, do not crush or chew.,,Follow your doctor's instructions for adjusting your dose.
