This is drug contain Mycophenolic acid (gr) 360 mg.
Mycophenolic acid is works by decreasing the body's immune system and prevents rejection of the organ transplant.Mycophenolate mofetil, often abbreviated as MMF or mycophenolate (GR) in this context, is an immunosuppressant medication that is used to prevent the rejection of transplanted organs (such as kidney, heart, liver, and others) and to treat certain autoimmune conditions. The active form of mycophenolate mofetil is mycophenolic acid (MPA).,,Inhibition of Inosine Monophosphate Dehydrogenase (IMPDH): Mycophenolate works by inhibiting an enzyme called inosine monophosphate dehydrogenase (IMPDH), which is critical for the de novo synthesis of guanosine nucleotides (building blocks of DNA and RNA) in rapidly dividing cells, including activated lymphocytes (immune cells). By interfering with this process, mycophenolate prevents the proliferation of immune cells, particularly T and B lymphocytes, which play a key role in organ rejection and autoimmune diseases.,,Reduced Lymphocyte Proliferation: As a result of IMPDH inhibition, mycophenolate reduces the production of new DNA in lymphocytes, limiting their ability to divide and multiply. This leads to a decrease in the overall immune response, which is beneficial in transplant patients to prevent the immune system from attacking the transplanted organ and in autoimmune conditions where the immune system is attacking the body's own tissues.,,Selective Action on Immune Cells: Mycophenolate's mechanism of action is relatively selective for immune cells because they rely more on de novo guanosine nucleotide synthesis compared to other cells in the body. This selective action helps minimize some of the side effects seen with other more broadly acting immunosuppressive drugs.
It's important to note that mycophenolate is typically used in combination with other immunosuppressive medications to achieve the desired level of immune suppression while minimizing side effects and ensuring the success of organ transplantation or autoimmune disease management.
lupus(especially thoe with symptoms of kidney disease),,rheumatoid arthritis,,vasculitis,,inflammed bowel disease(crohn's disease),,inflammatory eye disease,,kidney disorders,,skin disorders.

Warning : Protect yourself from sunlight and use sunscreen with a high sun protection factor. your doctor may get regular blood test done to monitor the levels of blood cells in your blood.
Drug drug interaction : Mycophenolate is an immunosuppressive medication commonly used to prevent organ transplant rejection and to treat certain autoimmune conditions. Some drugs may interact with mycophenolate and either increase or decrease its effectiveness or cause other adverse effects.,,Some examples of drugs that may interact with mycophenolate include:,,Antacids: Taking antacids containing magnesium and aluminum hydroxide may reduce the absorption of mycophenolate and should be avoided.,,Acyclovir or ganciclovir: These antiviral medications may increase the risk of mycophenolate-related side effects.,,Proton pump inhibitors (PPIs) and H2 blockers: Some studies suggest that PPIs and H2 blockers may decrease the absorption of mycophenolate. However, the clinical significance of this interaction is debated.,,Cholestyramine and colestipol: These cholesterol-lowering medications can reduce the absorption of mycophenolate and should be taken at least two hours apart.,,Vaccines: Live vaccines should generally be avoided while taking mycophenolate, as it may impair the body's ability to mount a full immune response to the vaccine.
It may be interact with antacids containing aluminium ,magnesium or calcium free phosphae binders( such as aluminium products, lanthanum, sevelamer).
Drug food interaction : Using alcohol or tobacoo with certain medicines may also cause inteactions. Discuss with your healthcare professional the use of your medicine with food, alcohol or tobacco.
Drug disease interaction: Mycophenolate (brand name Mycophenolate mofetil, commonly abbreviated as MMF) is a medication used to prevent rejection in organ transplantation and to treat certain autoimmune conditions. It is an immunosuppressant drug that works by inhibiting the proliferation of certain immune cells, particularly T and B lymphocytes.,,Mycophenolate is primarily used in the following conditions:,,Organ Transplantation: Mycophenolate is commonly used in combination with other immunosuppressant drugs to prevent the rejection of transplanted organs, such as kidneys, heart, liver, and others.,,Autoimmune Diseases: Mycophenolate can be prescribed for various autoimmune conditions, including but not limited to:,,a. Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (SLE): Mycophenolate may be used to manage symptoms and prevent flare-ups in patients with lupus.,,b. Rheumatoid Arthritis: It can be used in some cases as part of the treatment plan for rheumatoid arthritis when other medications have been ineffective.,,c. Myasthenia Gravis: Mycophenolate may be used to treat myasthenia gravis, a neuromuscular disorder.,,d. Autoimmune Hemolytic Anemia: Mycophenolate may be used to treat this condition where the body's immune system attacks its red blood cells.,,e. Dermatomyositis and Polymyositis: Mycophenolate may be used in the management of these inflammatory muscle diseases.
Please note that the specific use of mycophenolate and its dosage can vary depending on the individual patient's condition, medical history, and the judgment of the prescribing physician. It is essential to follow the doctor's instructions carefully and to be aware of any potential side effects or drug interactions. Always consult your healthcare provider for personalized medical advice related to your condition and medications.
