Promethazine 5 mg blocks the effects of a natural chemical acetylcholine.This can help dry up a cough or runny nose,but can also cause side effects such as a dry mouth and dry nose.

Treatment of allergic reaction such as allergic rhinitis,,runny nose,,watery eyes,, allergy to pollen,,hay fever,,allergic conjuctivitis.

Promethazine is an antihistamine medicine that relieves the symptoms of allergies. It is used for short term sleep problems including cough,cold or itching is keeping you awake at night.

Seizures,,difficult or fast breathing,,fast heatbeat,,increased sweating,,weakness,,nausea,,vomiting,,fever

Warning : Promethazine cause breathlessness and also may cause death in children. It should not be given to babies or children who are younger than 2 years old and should be given with caution to children who are 2 years of age or older.

Drug drug interaction : Promethazine may interact with some drugs includes opioids,benzodiazepines, and alcohol . It also interact with anticholinergic drugs and MAOIs inhibitors.

Drug food interaction:Grapefruit :This citrus interferes with how the body. It's most commonly known to increase the absorption of medicine into the bloodstream,resulting in a higher concentration of the drug and increasing your risk for liver damage and muscle breakdown.,,Dairy products such as milk,yogurt and cheese,can alter the effectiveness of antibiotics.Dairy is a rich source of calcium,which interferes with some antibiotics and iron supplements,preventing their absorption and causing a less active circulation in the bloodstream.avoid green,leafy veggies because vitamin k is found in greeny leaf and decrease the medicines ability to prevent blood clots.

if you miss a dose,take it as soon as you remember.if it is near the time of the next dose,skip the missed dose and resume your usual dosing schedule . Do not double the dose to catch up.

Consult your doctor before taking promethazine 5 mg ,if you are pregnant or planning pregnancy .Please inform your doctor before taking promethazine 5 mg if you have a breastfeeding baby.

Store this medicine at room temperature, away from sunlight and moisture.
