It is recommended to take these medications at least 2 hours before or after taking ofloxacin.,,Blood thinners: Ofloxacin may increase the risk of bleeding when taken with blood thinners, such as warfarin or heparin,,Steroids: Ofloxacin may increase the risk of tendon damage when taken with steroids, such as prednisone or methylprednisolone.,,Iron supplements: Ofloxacin may decrease the absorption of iron supplements. It is recommended to take these medications at least 2 hours before or after taking ofloxacin.,,Insulin or oral diabetes medications: Ofloxacin may increase the risk of low blood sugar when taken with insulin or oral diabetes medications.
Drug food interaction : Dairy products: Dairy products, such as milk, cheese, and yogurt, can also decrease the absorption of ofloxacin. It is best to avoid consuming dairy products within 2 hours before or 4 hours after taking ofloxacin.,,Vitamin and mineral supplements: Vitamin and mineral supplements, especially those containing zinc, can also decrease the absorption of ofloxacin. It is best to avoid taking these supplements while on ofloxacin therapy.
Drug disease interaction : Ofloxacin should not be used in patients with a known hypersensitivity to ofloxacin or other quinolones.,,Ofloxacin may increase the risk of seizures in patients with a history of seizures or a predisposition to seizures.,,Ofloxacin should be used with caution in patients with a history of psychiatric disorders or a history of suicidal thoughts or behavior.,,Ofloxacin may interact with other medications, such as anticoagulants, anti-inflammatory drugs, and diuretics.
