Loratadine is an antihistamine that works by blocking the action of histamine, a chemical that is responsible for causing allergic reactions. It binds to histamine receptors in the body, preventing histamine from binding and causing symptoms such as sneezing, runny nose, and itching.

Warning : Before taking loratadine, inform your doctor if you are allergic to it.
Drug drug interaction : Loratadine may interact with carbamazepine,cimetidine,clarithromycin,erythromycin.
Drug food interaction : Limit the intake of caffeine example : coffee,teas,colas , chocolate and some herbal suppliments .
Drug disease interaction : loratadine may interact with the liver /renal disease may be at greater risk for adverse effects from loratadine due to drug and metabolite accumulation .
