Inform your doctor if you develop symptoms, such as abdominal pain, loss of appetite, or yellowing of the eyes or skin (jaundice).

Drug -Drug interaction- It may interact with some pain killers (aspirin, phenylbutazone), blood thinners (heparin), cholesterol-lowering agents (clofibrate), anti-depressants (nortriptyline), anti-hypertensives (captopril, enalapril), stomach ulcers medicines (cimetidine, ranitidine). So, tell your doctor if you are using these drugs before taking glibenclamide 2.5 mg. Drug-food interaction- Taking glibenclamide 2.5mg with alcoholic beverages may increase the risk of hypoglycemia (low blood sugar). Drug-disease interaction- Glibenclamide 2.5 mg tablet should be avoided in patients with severe liver or kidney problems, severe thyroid or adrenal gland problems, or whoever had a diabetic coma as it may worsen the condition.

Glibenclamide 5 mg should not be taken until prescribed if you are taking alcohol.It may cause hypoglycemia. So, keep your doctor informed if you drink alcohol.Tell your doctor if you are breastfeeding. Do not breastfeed while you are taking glibenclamide 5 mg without advice from your doctor.

You can Monitor your blood sugar level with a glucometer regularly while you are taking this medicine. Your doctor may check your liver function regularly. Inform your doctor if you develop symptoms such as abdominal pain, loss of appetite, or yellowing of the eyes or skin (jaundice).Tell your doctor immediately if you experience any deep or rapid breathing or if you have persistent nausea, vomiting, and stomach pain as Glimepiride + Metformin may cause a rare but serious condition called lactic acidosis, which is an excess of lactic acid in the blood.
