Mebeverine is works by blocking calcium channels and muscarinic receptors on the smooth muscle, which cause muscle contraction and pain sensation, thereby stopping sudden muscle contractions (spasms) and reducing abdominal pain caused due by spasms, cramps, and gas formation, bloating, and discomfort.
