This is an antibiotic drug ie. Cefataxime 500 mg.

Cefotaxime 500 MG Injection is a third-generation cephalosporin antibiotic. It is used to treat bacterial infections affecting the lungs, joint, bone, blood, skin, and urinary tract - the kidneys, bladder, ureters, or urethra. It is also used to treat a sexually transmitted infection caused by Neisseria gonorrhoea bacteria that infects both men and women. This medicine kills or stops the growth of bacteria causing the infection. It is not effective against infections caused by viruses.

Cefotaxime 500 mg is a sterile, injectable antibiotic medication that is used to treat a wide range of bacterial infections. The active ingredient in cefotaxime is cefotaxime sodium, which belongs to a class of antibiotics known as third-generation cephalosporins.5

Warning: Do not use this medicine if you are previously allergic to it. It is administered into your vein or muscle by a health care professional in a hospital or clinic. Your doctor will determine how much cefotaxime sodium injection dose you need each day and how often the injections should be given. Once an antibiotic is started, it is always recommended to finish the entire course of treatment.

Drug drug interaction : It may interact with certain aminoglycoside antibiotics (gentamicin, streptomycin, neomycin, kanamycin, amikacin, tobramycin), diuretics (furosemide, etacrynic acid), medicines used for gout (probenecid), and certain vaccines (BCG, cholera live, typhoid live).

Drug disease interaction : Gastrointestinal Diseases:Cefotaxime 500 MG Injection can kill the helpful bacteria in your stomach or intestine and leads to diarrhoea. Therefore use this medicine with extreme caution in patients with gastrointestinal (mouth to anus) diseases, particularly colitis (swelling of the inner lining of the colon), since it may worsen the patient's condition.

Seizure disorders:A seizure is a brain disorder that occurs due to sudden neurological disturbances which results mainly in behavioural changes. Use Cefotaxime 500 MG Injection with caution in patients with seizures or fits because it can trigger the condition. Seizure medicines should be continued in patients with a known seizure disorder. Dose adjustment for Cefotaxime 500 MG Injection might be required in some patients.

Kidney Disease:Cefotaxime 500 MG Injection is filtered by the kidney and moved out of the body through urine. Patients with kidney dysfunction need special consideration while receiving Cefotaxime 500 MG Injection due to the increased risk of kidney damage. Dose adjustment should be done based on the clinical condition.

Liver Disease:Cefotaxime 500 MG Injection may increase liver enzyme levels and cause liver swelling. Patients with liver diseases need special consideration while using Cefotaxime 500 MG Injection due to the risk of liver damage. Dose adjustment should be done based on the clinical condition.

If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember. If it is close to the time of the next dose, skip the missed dose and take the next dose at the usual time. Do not take extra medicine to make up for a missed dose. Discard any unused medication in a safe manner and do not share it with others.

Do regular exercise such as cyclingbody walkingbody joggingbody dancing or swimming for a minimum of 30 minutes per day. Invest at least 150 minutes of your week in exercise.Avoid consumption of alcohol and quit smoking.

Keep the medication in a cool, dry place, away from light and moisture.
