This is a laxative drug Bisacodyl 5 mg.

Bisacodyl 5 mg works by increasing activity of the intestine to cause a bowel movement.

Constipation

Bisacodyl 5 mg is used for constipation and also used to empty the bowels before surgery and certain medical procedures. Bisacodyl works by increasing activity of the intestine to cause a bowel movement.

Warning : Inform your doctor if you have allergic reaction with bisacodyl . Take bisacodyl 5 mg tablet for more than 1 weak,unless prescribed by the doctor ,as it leads to dependency on the laxative action to produce a bowel movement.

Drug-drug Interaction: Bisacodyl may interact with sodium sulfate,polyethylene glycol and some moderate with deflazacort,potassium citrate, dichlorphenamide some diuretics: hydrochlorthiazide and cardiac glycoside ie digoxin and antacids or certain proton pump inhibitors.

Drug food interaction : Bisacodyl may interact with dairy product like milk cheese or yoghurt or antacids for avoiding side effects.

Drug disease interaction : Bisacodyl is may contraindicated in inflammatory bowel disease.

Bisacodyl can be habit forming. long term use can make your body depend on the laxative for regular bowel movements. Do not use this medicine for longer than directed by your doctor.if your constipation keeps returning .Please consult your doctor.

Inform you doctor before taking bisacodyl if you are pregnant or if you are having breastfeeding baby.

Store this medicine at room temperature, away from sunlight and moisture.

Swallow the tablets /capsule whole, do not crush or chew.,,Follow your doctor's instructions for adjusting your dose.
