Acupenem 1 Gm Injection is a broad-spectrum carbapenem antibiotic. Acupenem 1 Gm Injection injection is used to treat serious bacterial infections such as pneumonia, meningitis, blood infection (sepsis), complicated urinary tract infections, abdominal infections, skin and soft tissue infections, and infections caused by multidrug resistant bacteria. It works by killing bacteria through blocking the formation of their protective outer covering, which causes the bacteria to break apart and die.
The usual adult dose ranges from 500 mg to 2 g every 8 hours, depending on the type and severity of infection. If too much Acupenem 1 Gm Injection is given, it can cause seizures, confusion, severe nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, kidney problems, and electrolyte imbalance, especially in people with kidney disease.
