Rosuvastatin 5mg is used to treat the following conditions:
Rosuvastatin belongs to a group of medicines called statins. It blocks an enzyme in the liver that is needed to make cholesterol. As a result, the liver produces less cholesterol and removes more LDL (“bad”) cholesterol from the blood. This helps lower cholesterol levels and reduces the buildup of fatty deposits in blood vessels, thereby lowering the risk of heart attack and stroke.
If you are allergic to rosuvastatin, avoid using this medicine. Serious allergic reactions such as rash, itching, swelling of the face or throat, or breathing difficulty may occur.
If you already have liver disease or a history of abnormal liver tests and take Rosuvastatin, it may put extra strain on your liver. This can cause tiredness, loss of appetite, yellowing of the skin or eyes (jaundice), and in rare cases serious liver damage. Your doctor may check your liver regularly or avoid giving this medicine.
If you have kidney problems and take Rosuvastatin, the medicine may stay in your body longer and increase side effects. Your doctor may lower the dose or monitor you closely.
If you get unexplained muscle pain, weakness, or tenderness while taking Rosuvastatin, it may be a side effect of the medicine. In rare cases, it can become serious and cause dark urine and kidney problems. Stop the medicine and contact your doctor right away.
If you have an underactive thyroid and take Rosuvastatin, you may have a higher chance of muscle pain or weakness. In rare cases, it can lead to more serious muscle problems. Always communicate with your doctor about your past medical conditions.
Rosuvastatin is contraindicated during pregnancy as it may harm fetal development. It is also generally not recommended during breastfeeding because it may pass into breast milk. Consult your doctor before using this medicine if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breastfeeding.
This medicine can generally be taken before or after food. Avoid excessive alcohol consumption because alcohol may increase stomach irritation and the risk of bleeding.
Avoid taking Rosuvastatin 5mg with the following medicines, as it may increase or decrease the desired effect, or in worse cases, it could be fatal:
Rosuvastatin: (E,3R,5S)-7-[4-(4-fluorophenyl)-2-[methyl(methylsulfonyl)amino]-6-propan-2-ylpyrimidin-5-yl]-3,5-dihydroxyhept-6-enoic acid

Take Rosuvastatin 5mg exactly as your doctor recommends. The dose may change based on your condition and how well you respond. Do not take more than prescribed without consulting your doctor.
If you forget to take Rosuvastatin 5mg, take the medication soon as you remember. If it’s nearly time for your next dose, skip the missed one and continue with your regular schedule. Always consult the doctor before making any changes to your dosage.
Taking more than the prescribed dose of rosuvastatin 40 mg/day may increase the risk of side effects. Muscle pain or weakness and other complications may occur. If you accidentally take too much, contact your doctor or seek medical attention, especially if you develop unusual symptoms.
Rosuvastatin is a statin medicine used to lower high LDL (“bad”) cholesterol and triglyceride levels. It also helps reduce the risk of heart attack, stroke, and other cardiovascular problems in people at increased risk.
Common side effects may include headache, dizziness, nausea, constipation or diarrhea, stomach discomfort, tiredness, and muscle pain. These are usually mild, but persistent or severe muscle pain or weakness should be reported to a doctor.
Take rosuvastatin exactly as prescribed, usually once daily at the same time each day. It can be taken with or without food and should be swallowed with water. Continue taking it as prescribed even if you feel well, because cholesterol may rise again if treatment is stopped.
You can order Rosuvastatin 5 mg from SayaCare with a valid prescription. When you place your order, SayaCare first verifies the prescription and then dispenses the medicine as prescribed. Once the order is processed, the medication is conveniently delivered to your doorstep.
Follow a heart-healthy diet with plenty of vegetables, fruits, whole grains, legumes, and fiber-rich foods. Limit foods high in saturated and trans fats, fried foods, and excessive alcohol. Continue following the diet recommended by your doctor or dietitian while taking rosuvastatin.
